Interface Uganda Role: Founder
Job: Anaesthetist
I grew up outside the UK, but studied medicine at Liverpool University. Always with a view to working in a developing country, I did a mixture of SHO jobs in A&E, surgery, obstetrics and finally settled for anaesthesia. After meeting Andrew, we moved to Uganda to work with a Church of Uganda Hospital where all our medical skills were put to the test. We returned to the UK in 1998 and continued our training in the SouthWest. Since being back in Uganda from January 2005, I have worked with Andrew both in Kampala and upcountry. Since September 2013 I was working at CoRSU rehabilitation hospital helping to upgrade their anaesthetic services. I was still involved with teaching the postgraduate doctors training in anaesthesia at Mulago hospital.
Sarah and Andrew moved to the Philippines in 2020 to start building a team there to help people needing life-transforming surgery.
