One of our containers being collected from Heavitree Hospital in Exeter on the start of its journey to Kampala, Uganda.

This sterilising unit was sent in one of our containers in 2009.  It was originally from a GP Practice in Devon and no longer in use.

Why repair them?

• Can’t suck - babies malnourished and fail to thrive;
• some babies abandoned at birth;
• some tribes have specific names for individuals with cleft - ‘Ojok; - cursed by God;
• cleft children often don’t attend school - teased;
• cleft adults can be rejected and do not marry.

The cost to repair 1 cleft lip and change a life: £50
