Cleft lips and palates

Why repair them?

  • Can’t suck - babies malnourished and fail to thrive;
  • some babies abandoned at birth;
  • some tribes have specific names for individuals with cleft - ‘Ojok; - cursed by God;
  • cleft children often don’t attend school - teased;
  • cleft adults can be rejected and do not marry.

The cost to repair 1 cleft lip and change a life: £50

Regular donations from Michael Adams

Michael  Adams, a church organist for over 60 years, has chosen to donate the proceeds from his organ playing to Interface Uganda.  Most Sundays he plays at the Parish Church of Peter, Paul and Thomas, Bovey Tracey.  He also plays for weddings and funerals.  We are receiving regular donations for which we are extremely grateful.
